Upcoming Events
Moody Air Force Base, Lowndes County
Schools and Valdosta City Schools are
sponsoring the 7th Annual
Parent University on Sat, March 1, 2008. It will
be held from 8:00am to 12:30pm at Valdosta
Middle School. Parent University is a one-half
day of seminars and activities for parents. It is
designed to provide information on a variety
of topics appropriate for parents with children
of any age.

Childcare will be provided by licensed
providers for children 6 weeks to 12 years old.
A breakfast consisting of grits, eggs, and
sausage will be provided for everyone.

For more information, please contact Susan
Ford of the Family Advocacy Program at
257-4805. Also, you can register online at
www.lowndes.k12.ga.us.
The MSC will be holding elections for the 2008-2009 term April 10th, 2008. If you
are interested in running for a position on the board, please let us know! If you
have questions about a position you are interested in, contact any of the
board
members. They would be glad to answer your questions and help you in any way.
If you are interested in running, please contact the Nomination Committee at
parliamentarian@moodyspousesclub.com.  Have a voice and a say in your club.

To vote at the elections, be sure you have filled out your official membership
form. If you have not received one via email or filled one out at the membership
meetings, please contact
membership@moodyspousesclub.com. You will have to
fill this form out and return it by
March 15th in order to vote in April.
Thank you for your understanding and support of the Moody Spouses Club.
We are asking MSC members to help with the food, drinks and supplies for the
MSC meetings. We have plenty of supplies but still need some more food and
drinks. If you can help out in anyway, fill out the form on
the
Sign Up Forms page or email signups@moodyspousesclub.com.
Thank you for your help and support!
MSC Scholarships
The MSC Scholarships are available for
applicants to fill out. They are available at
area schools, the base library and
educational office as well as on our
website in PDF form here
MSC Scholarship Application Form.
We had worked hard to get them ready
and your have worked hard to help earn
the funds needed to give these
scholarships.

For more information about the
scholarship, please contact our
Scholarship Chair.
It has been brought to our consideration that we hold the MSC meetings at The Moody Field Club. The club can offer a place for childcare during our
meetings, a microphone system, set up, clean up, etc. The meal ideas they gave us were $6-$8 for a soup/salad bar, sandwich, or pasta bar. $2 off
if you are a club member. There would also be cookies and brownies ranging from $.50 to $1.95. Iced Tea would also be provided. The bar is open
and to be used at your discretion, please don’t drink and drive, we care about you and don’t want anything to happen! You do not have to eat at the
club to come to our meetings. It would be similar to what we do now. A social time to eat from 6:00pm-6:30pm with the meeting starting at 6:30. You
are more than welcome to come socialize and stay for the meeting without paying for/eating food.  It has also come up that we could do this once a
quarter, having the meetings at the chapel on the other meeting dates. With meetings at the Club, you would need to make reservations that you are
attending the meeting if you plan to eat so we can give them a final count on how much food to make. You would have to let us know the day before
the meeting if you are attending and you can cancel your reservation within 24 hours.

But we want to hear your opinions on this. This is your club and we want to enjoy your time. Please let us know what you think.
Email us or fill out the
form below to send your opinion anonymously. Thank you for your support!
Comments on moving the MSC meetings to the Moody Field Club:
Holding MSC Meetings at the Club
National Military Spouses Day ~ May 9th
May 9th is National Military Spouse Appreciation
Day and Moody AFB wants to know what you want to
do! This is our day! They want to thank us for the
support we give our spouses and living the life of a
military spouse. Think of it as the 23d Wing throwing
us a party. So that being said, what would you like?
Would you like to take tours of what your spouse
does? Have speakers come in? Spa day? Send us
your ideas and we will do our best to make it
happen! The MSC is going to work with the base to
get you what you want on your special day, so give
us some ideas to propose to them.
Email us and let us know what you think!
Azalea Festival
The EMS spouses have put together an exercise group. They meet
Mondays and Fridays at 0900 at the Fitness Center to spin and
Wednesdays and Sundays to run/walk at VMS track. If you would like
more info, contact the spin instructor,
Sandra Naglack, for the group.
http://www.freewebs.com/mafbspinningspouses/ They also are trying to
get together a childcare co-op. So for those with children not in school
they won't have to pay for a babysitter using this method.
The MSC is interested in having a booth at this years
Azalea Festival in downtown Valdosta. Last year it
brought in over 35,000 people. We would like to have
information about the MSC, and possibly sell water,
baked goods and decals. But we would need your help!
We need help with supplying the baked goods, water
and helping out to man the booths. We would probably
need 2-3 people at a time and working 2-3 hour shifts.
The festival is March 15th and 16th from 10am - 5pm.
If you can help in any way, please
email us and let us
know! This would be a great opportunity to the club.
We would be donating 5% of our sales to The Air Force
Aid Society and 5% to the Air Force Enlisted Village
Indigent Widows' Fund. The rest would go into
our club Operational Fund.
Have an announcement? Know of an upcoming events? Let us know and we will post in our newsletter and on our website.
